Gratitude, Growth & Good Coffee ☕
It’s a quiet morning at Kits Café, Vancouver. I’m sipping my perfectly brewed cup of coffee before the workday begins, and a thought keeps circling my mind: What should my first blog be about?
After days of going back and forth, I finally asked myself a simpler question — Why did I want to start blogging in the first place?
The answer came easily:
I want to share my experiences and thoughts in hopes that they might brighten someone’s day, add a little meaning, and maybe even help someone through their own journey. Writing, for me, is about connection — it’s my way of saying, “I’m here, I’ve been there too, and we’ll figure it out together.”
Seven Years Ago…
I landed in Canada just after graduating high school to begin my undergraduate degree. It wasn’t just my first time leaving home – it was my first time in a completely new country. Everything felt unfamiliar: the language, the food, the lifestyle, even the weather.
The culture shock hit me hard. I cried. I questioned my decision. I thought of packing my bags and flying back home more times than I can count.
But then classes began.
I made friends.
I got my first part-time job and experienced the thrill of earning my own money.
A few months later, I started working at Starbucks — which, at the time, was my absolute dream job. Looking back now, I can confidently say it was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. I met incredible people, worked in multiple cities, and collected memories that still make me smile.
Fast Forward to Today
From being a nervous international student to now working in corporate at one of the best companies, my journey has been nothing short of transformative.
But here’s the thing — somewhere along the way, I caught myself focusing too much on what’s missing instead of appreciating what’s here. I compared myself to others instead of my past self. I stressed about the future instead of enjoying the present.
And then I realized something important:
“What I have now is exactly what I once wished for – and I’m learning to enjoy it without rushing to the next thing.”

A Lesson I Keep Coming Back To
Sometimes, we need to slow down, cut through the noise, and take a good look at our life. Not everything has to be planned. Not everything has to be perfect. The beauty is often in the imperfections.
We should reflect on both the good and the bad without getting discouraged, finding ways to make life lighter, brighter, and more joyful.
Why I’m Writing This Blog
Mysteriomuse is my little corner of the internet — a place for honest conversations, shared lessons, and real stories. I want this space – Mysteriomuse – to be an open, positive, and honest community where we can learn from each other, share what’s worked for us, and grow together.
Over time, I’ll share my own personal stories, the tools and mindsets that helped me, and the lessons I’ve picked up along the way. My hope is that you’ll find something here that resonates, inspires, or simply makes you smile.
If you have stories, lessons, or feedback, I’d love to hear from you in the comments or by email.
We’re all on this journey of becoming the best version of ourselves — let’s make it a beautiful one. 💛
